BALLS from the Queue (GAME, SET & MATCH)
Making the Wimbledon Trilogy
When Wimbledon appointed an official poet as the artist in residence for this year’s tournament, I knew they were going to need an unofficial one too.
My father’s love of tennis and his wise words “Practice what you Love” encouraged me to spend 2 weeks in the Wimbledon queue inviting folk to write these tennis poems.
The result is a stunning trilogy (GAME, SET & MATCH) with close to 300 poems in total.
It really captures the experience of the dedicated fans and makes great reading. There is lots of playfulness and wit to enjoy.
